Is It Time to Change Your Van?

posted on 31 May 2014 | posted in Tips

For several years, your van has been your constant companion in for your work. However, no van lasts forever - and with more economical and hybrid vans on the market, is it cheaper in the long run to trade in your old model for a new one?

There are plenty of things to consider though before you let go of your van and find yourself a new one. Check first and look at your van's maintenance records. You can see if your vehicle has had plenty of problems or not and if your mechanic seems to suggest that there is no need for any kind of major work in the future, then maybe you may still want to hang on to your van for the time being. After all, it will be quite an investment to get a new van, and you're not going to get much for a well-used van in the UK - that's for sure.

Think about your insurance fees and premiums. Remember that your old van is going to cost you much less compared to a much newer vehicle that would cost you a high price for insurance fees. Also, it is time to think about your needs. If your current van is serving its purposes well, then maybe it has been really made for you to keep it.

You may also go to your trusted mechanic for auto advice. Ask him if your current vehicle's van parts are easy to find. If they are, then you might want to consider keeping the vehicle still. On the other hand, if they are hard to find, then maybe it is time that you set your sights on a new one. After all, parts that are hard to find also mean that you would be spending much more on those parts.
