The windscreen of any vehicle is laminated, and as you know takes some breaking. Unlike the side windows. These are usually toughned safety glass. Which means give it a tap and it drops into nice little sugar cudes. Thieves know this and using an automatic centre punch can break the glass almost silently.

By adding this security laminate to the glass will help the stop the glass from breaking. Even if the persistent thief did mangage to break the glass they would have made an excessive amount of noise and although the glass may be broken it will still be held together creating a barrier from the thief.
