Foam Fire Extinguishers are ideally suited where both Class A & B fire risks exist. AFFF is particularly suited to fight liquid spill fires such as petrol, oil, paints and solvents and works by forming a reactive film on the liquid to extinguish the fire. Foam extinguishers are also suitable for class A fires involving solids, fabrics, paper etc. Foam extinguishers are lighter than equivalent capacity water extinguishers making them easier to handle. Not suitable for cooking oils and fats where a wet chemical extinguisher should be used.
